How a Book Is Made

Giggling duck image (c) 2008 by Hiroe Nakata
I would recommend downloading all four of the following resources. Two are visual aids to share with students; the guides explain and give suggestions for how to use the first two resources. Please note that the visuals are formatted to print at legal size and are best printed in color; if you plan to download straight to print, you'll want to be near a printer with color capability, and load the printer with legal paper. In addition, the signature sheet demonstration piece needs to be printed two-sided; there are instructions given for two-sided printing in the teacher's guide.
If you're not ready to print right away, please feel free to save the documents to your computer, to print at your convenience. To save: 1) left-click the link to open the document, 2) click on "File" in your browser window toolbar, 3) click on "Save as..." in the "File" menu. Or, 1) right-click the link, 2) click on "Save target as..." in the dialogue box. Please let me know if you have any problems, questions, or comments!
