Fee: My fee for school visits is $600 to $1,000 per visit day (depending on the proximity of the school to Nashville, Tennessee), plus travel expenses.

Audience: I visit preschools and elementary schools. My books are best for preschoolers and younger elementary students (preK-3), and I present to this age group. At the request of the school, I am happy to speak also with older students (grades 4 and 5) about the writing and publishing process; however, these programs may entail an additional visit day (i.e., one visit day for preK-3, one visit day for grades 4-5), depending on the size of the school.

Program: My program includes a book-reading, time for question-and-answer about writing and being an author, and a tie-in craft activity.

Visit schedule: I am able to do three or four programs per visit day, with no more than 80 to 120 students per program. Schools with more than 300 to 400 students to be included in the visit may need to schedule two or more visit days. Program length ranges from 20 to 50 minutes.

Book sales: I offer book sales as part of my visit. I would love for every student to leave the visit with an author-signed book; to help make this possible, I offer books at a special school visit price, which represents a significant discount from list price.

Confirmation: After arranging a visit, I will send two copies of a letter of confirmation about the visit. Please sign and return one copy. To hold a spot for you on my calendar, I will need to receive the signed letter back within two weeks of sending it out.
